Text for a parish bulletin

About 75 words, sized for one column:

Eight minutes for peace

Every Sunday at 8 PM, people pause for eight minutes to pray or sit in silence for peace, each in their own tradition. Because the time is local time, the moment travels around the world with the evening. You need nothing for it: no special place, no account, no experience. At cosmicpeaceprayers.org you will find a timer with a soft bell, prayers for peace from many traditions and a Sunday letter. It is free and non-commercial.

Prayer of intercession for a service

For Christian congregations, for example in Advent:

We pray for all who suffer from war and violence, for the wounded, the grieving and those who have had to flee. Give them protection and comfort, and let us not grow weary of praying and working for peace.

Printable prayer card

A simple card in black on white. The front gives the time and the address, the back carries this site's short prayer for peace. Lay it out in church, hand it on, or slip it into a letter.
